Calgary Flames Unveil Exciting Updates on New Scotia Place Arena

The Calgary Flames are making headlines with the latest construction updates on Scotia Place, their future home arena in Calgary. With over 800 construction workers on site daily, significant progress is being made on the roof, exterior, and interior of the building. Fans passing by the site can now see the evolving structure that will host Flames games and other events. The roof deck is one-third complete, and metal decking has been installed in key areas. Additionally, the trellis structure for the southwest rooftop restaurant patio is finished. The food hall is also taking shape, promising a diverse selection of culinary options for fans. On the west side, exterior drywall installation is underway, while steel installation is progressing at the main entrance of the 1,000-seat community arena. This community space will allow for ice rentals once completed. Construction crews are also working on raising 14 Ave SE by 6.5 feet to improve site access. Scotia Place is designed to accommodate 18,400 fans for hockey games and up to 20,000 for concerts, with an anticipated opening for the 2027-28 NHL season. The Calgary Flames are excited about these developments as they prepare for their future in this state-of-the-art facility.
