The Calgary Flames have drafted defenceman Carson Carels with the sixth-overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
The 18-year-old Carels scored 20 goals and 73 points in 58 games with the Prince George Cougars last season.
The left-shot defenceman also tallied a goal and 10 points in 10 postseason games.
He registered one assist in five games for Team Canada at the World Juniors last season.
